Plugs for tube drawing machines

The short floating plug consists of hard metal and is used with a cylindrical guide section, removably fastened to it. The guide section (12) consists of a simpler material than the floating plug (11), e.g. of a plastics material. Its outer jacket surface (13) corresponds approximately to the internal diameter of the tube to be drawn. The plug surface is slightly conical against the drawing direction. The ring gap (15) thus formed is used for dosed supply of lubricant into the drawing area. The guide section is removably fastened to a reusable heat-resistant carrier, and this in turn is removably connected to the floating plug.
