PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce weight, and to prolong a life (enhance reliability), in a unit bearing for an axle of an automobile. SOLUTION: An annular recess 25 is formed in an inner circumferential face of a supporting body 20 positioned between double row race way tracks 20a of the supporting body 20, in this unit bearing for an axle. The unit bearing is composed of a pair of inner rings 12 having raceway tracks 12a in their outer circumferential faces to be engaged with the axle, the supporting body 20 having the double row raceway tracks 20a in the inner circumferential face and provided with a flange part 24 connected to a wheel plate and a brake plate, double row tapered rollers 14 assembled in between the tracks 12a of the inner rings 12 and the tracks 20a of the supporting body 20, and cages 16 for holding the respective rollers 14 in a circumferential direction with prescribed spaces. |
