PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a temperature detecting precision of a rice-cooking vessel of an electric rice cooker controlled by a microcomputer. SOLUTION: An amount of heating of a heating means at the time of rice cooking or beat retaining is controlled by reading a detected temperature value of a rice-cooking vessel from a temperature detecting means of the rice-cooking vessel into a control unit 100. An abnormal temperature judging circuit is provided to judge an abnormal temperature state when a detected temperature value of the rice-cooking vessel detected by the temperature detecting means of the rice-cooking vessel is higher than a specified value and in an abnormal state, and to stop heating operation at the time of rice cooking or the heat retaining.
