PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scattering preventive device for drilling mud and dust capable of favorably effecting the drilling work even in, for example, works in urban area causing little scattering of mud, sand or dust in drilling the ground. SOLUTION: This dust scattering preventive device is provided with a casing 2 in which a boring machine 4 to bore the earth while discharging air is inserted in a bored pile hole 6, and the boring machine 4 is communicated with an opening 6a of the bored pile hole 6, and which is erected to surround the opening 6a, and a covering member 3 which is provided on the casing 2 and covers a space 7 between a peripheral wall 2b of the casing 2 and the boring machine 4 inserted in the casing 2, and when the mud, sand and dust are scattered from the opening 6a in the ground surface 5a by the air lift generated in the hole 6, the mud, sand and dust to be scattered upward by the air lift are shut off by the covering member 3, and prevented from being scattered outside the casing 2.
