PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To significantly reduce treatment time required for surface treatment with a simplified work and minimum man-hours, by cleaning a handrail surface, applying an ultraviolet hardening type coating agent, and irradiating ultraviolet in this order. SOLUTION: For a man conveyor 1, cleaning treatment of a handrail 2 is first conducted. The cleaning treatment is conducted by bringing the handrail 2 into contact with cleaning liquid, though it is not specified. Next, application treatment of an ultraviolet hardening type coating agent is conducted. As the ultraviolet hardening type coating agent and its application method are not specified respectively, general methods of brush coating and spray coating are applicable. Finally, irradiation treatment of ultraviolet is conducted. Therefore, the coating agent can be hardened to bring it into close contact with the handrail 2 and glosses its surface. It is sufficient if the irradiating time required to harden coating agent is ensured.
