PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeder forming a stable loop even when a feed roller is rotated twice for conveyance and returning the feed roller to the original position and to provide an image processing device provided with the sheet feeder. SOLUTION: In this sheet feeder, a loop is formed in a sheet between a feed roller 10 and an auxiliary scan roller 80 for carrying out sheet registration. In the sheet feeder, a sheet conveying quantity based on a rotating quantity of the feed roller 10 from a start of rotation of the feed roller 10 to detection of a sheet by means of a sensor lever 60 and a sheet detection sensor is computed, and on the basis of the conveying quantity, a rotating quantity for forming a loop by the feed roller 10 is decided.
