PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a TATAMI mat plain piercing device by which the edge width dimension of a TATAMI mat edge at the time of finishing is easily changed and adjusted. SOLUTION: This TATAMI mat plain piercing device is constituted of a plain piercing machine device provided with a plain piercing machine 1 having a straight advance needle 11 and with a cutting blade, a cutting blade moving means such as a stepping motor for relatively moving the cutting blade against the straight advance needle 11, a straightening means such as a straightening motor for straightening the deformation of the TATAMI mat while moving the plain piercing machine device and an edge width changing means for moving the cutting blade and the plain piercing machine device in mutually opposite directions by a nearly same movement quantity and changing the edge width dimension of the TATAMI mat edge.
