PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To drastically reduce the mist contained in discharged waste gas by preventing the condensed water ascending or descending along the inner wall face of a stack from being blown up and rescattered. SOLUTION: A stack 2 is provided to the upper end of an absorption tower 1 contg. a spray nozzle 4 and a mist eliminator 7 both inside the tower to constitute the stack-integrated flue gas desulfurization unit. In the unit, a mist receiving trough 19 is provided on the inner wall face so as to collect the condensed water 9 descending along the inner face, a reverse mist receiving trough 20 is furnished above the upper end of the mist receiving trough, hence the mist in the waste gas passed through the eliminator is deposited on the inner wall face to from condensed water, the condensed water 26 ascending along the inner wall face is collected in the mist receiving trough through the reverse mist receiving trough, and the condensed water descending along the inner wall is collected in the mist receiving trough.
