PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a moistureproofing resin composition which can impart moistureproofing performance as high as that of polyethylene-laminated paper to paper to form moistureproof paper which shows satisfactory separation between the resin layer and the paper when regenerated, has good nonslipperiness, and does not suffer from wax separation. SOLUTION: There are provided a moistureproofing resin composition comprising (1) a synthetic resin emulsion or a synthetic rubber latex, (2) a paraffin wax having a melting point of 45-65 deg.C, and (3) aluminum hydroxide having a mean particle diameter of 1-50μm, wherein the paraffin wax is present in an amount of 0.3-150 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. (in terms of the solid matter) synthetic resin emulsion or synthetic rubber emulsion and a material made moistureproof by treatment therewith.
