<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a differential gear which has a housing of improved type and is used in the four-wheel driving system of a vehicle. SOLUTION: A differential gear 17 is composed of a viscosity joint 29, ball type slope actuator 31, and a clutch pack 33. In the normal operating conditions, most of the torque is transmitted to the front driving wheels, and the device 17 serves rotating as a unit. The device 17 has a housing 25 favorably of a single piece member equipped with a plurality of axial grooves 77, each of which receives a protrusive streak 79 on the mating part of fitting provided on the outer surface of an input joint member 35 and a tab furnished on an exterior friction disc 65. Accordingly the roll-over parts 76 and 83 formed at the ends of the housing hold various constituent parts, and thus an assembling method for housing and device 17 is established at a low cost in a simple configuration.</p> |
