PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fix a bolt to a plate without welding by providing a diametrally enlarged part at a shaft of the bolt and engaging the diametrally enlarged part to a holding member. SOLUTION: A shaft 1b of a bolt 1 is inserted to a through hole 2a of a plate 2, and a washer 3 is mounted to the shaft 1b. Next, a die 4 having a through hole for receiving the shaft 1b, and a punch 5 entering through the through hole for applying a pressing force in a shaft direction to the shaft 1b are prepared. The shaft 1b in a state of being mounted to the washer 3 is inserted to the through hole provided to the die 4, and compressive force in the shaft direction is applied from a tip of the shaft 1b by the punch 5 while force acting in a downward direction is added to a head 1a of the bolt 1. In this time, since a side surface of the shaft 1b is held by the die 4, a diametrally enlarged part 1c can be formed just below the washer 3. By engaging the diametrally enlarged part 1c to the washer 3, the bolt 1 is fixed to the plate 2.
