PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose an ink-jet recording apparatus which can surely prevent generation of print failures due to air bubbles remaining in an ink flow passage at the time of an ink initial filling process. SOLUTION: An ink-sucking mechanism of the ink-jet recording apparatus carries out a head recovery process CL (step ST117) of sucking ink after initial filling one hour later (step ST116) after an ink initial filling process (step ST110). A large quantity of ink is sucked outside from an ink nozzle in the process, whereby air bubbles remaining in an ink flow passage can be surely discharged. Moreover, since the process is executed the fixed time later after the initial filling of ink, air bubbles growing from fine air bubbles formed via a filter at the filling time which remain at a step part of the ink flow passage and come out of the step part to float in the ink passage can be surely discharged. Accordingly, print failures due to remaining air bubbles at the initial filling can be surely avoided. |
