PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide 2,2-bis[3,5-dibromo-4-(2,3-dibromopropyloxy)phenyl]propane excellent in flowability and long-term storage stability. SOLUTION: The purpose of this invention is achieved by filling the sample of 2,2-bis[3,5-dibromo-4-(2,3-dibromopropyloxy)phenyl]propane in a cylindrical cell capable of being separated into upper and lower divisions and having 25 mm inside diameter, by compacting the sample from the upper part at 0.1 mm/ sec compression rate while maintaining the cell temperature at 60 deg.C until the compressive force has reached the value of 20 kgf (0.4 MPa), followed by retaining the compressive force further for 1 min to subject the sample to compression molding and by selecting the sample having 1-400 gf tensile strength when vertically pulling the upper division of the cell upward with the lower division fixed until the molded sample breaks.
