PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve conversion in an autothermal reforming reaction of desulfurized naphtha. SOLUTION: This autothermal reforming catalyst comprises a zirconia support supporting ruthenium or an inorganic oxide support supporting ruthenium and zirconium. A content of ruthernium is preferably within a range of 0.05 to 20 wt.%, and further cobalt and/or magnesium may be contained in the catalyst.
