<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve image quality by releasing the recording paper holding state of a feeding roller when a lateral register roller moves in the cross direction of paper. SOLUTION: Simultaneously with the start of rotatory driving and axial (lateral) movement of a lateral register roller 51, a driving solenoid 50a constituting a roller release means is put in an ON state. A refeeding driven roller 41b is therefore lifted upward and spaced from recording paper, so that the held state of recording paper by a refeeding roller 41 is released into a freely moving state. With this constitution of moving the lateral register roller in the freely moving state released from restraint by a feeding roller the recording paper can be moved for alignment always desirably regardless of the size or the like of recording paper, and the quality of a formed image can be improved.</p> |
