PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To find out quickly a desired index from a group of tab type indexes for drawing out a screen which are displayed on a screen necessary for operation of an apparatus. SOLUTION: In this automatic synthesizer, a group 25 of a plurality of stages arranged tab type indexes and a group 26 of one straight line arranged contents type indexes are simultaneously displayed on a screen P1, an arrangement of tab stages 25a, 25b of the group 25 of tab type indexes is adjusted so that a desired index becomes conspicuous, and a position of each index of the group 26 of contents type indexes is fixed. As a result the index for a set screen P1a being displayed can be quickly found out from the group 25 of tab type indexes, and an additionally required index can be also found out from the group 26 of contents type indexes.
