PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To link a printing material data and an identification code on a printing paper for printing the printing material data thereon in a short process time. SOLUTION: A transmitting part 21 of a host computer 2 transmits printing material data, a proper code of the printing material data, and a reading command for a bar code on a printing paper to a printer 1. A bar code reading sensor 33 reads the bar code. The proper code of the received printing material data and the read-out bar code data are returned from an interface part 16 to the host computer 2 as a set. A receiving part 22 confirms that the returned proper code of the printing material data coincides with the code applied at the time of commanding the reading operation. A data base part 23 produces a data base by an application software with the bar code data corresponding to the proper code of the printing material data.
