PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain gaseous hydrogen at high humidity by feeding fuel and water to a reforming part with a reforming catalyst, carrying out reforming under heating, feeding water to carbon monoxide contained in the reformed gas flowing out of the reforming part and carrying out modification. SOLUTION: Water is fed from a water feed part 2 to a 1st evaporation part 3 and evaporated by heat from a heating part 8. A gaseous hydrocarbon as starting material is fed from an organic compound feed part 1 to the 1st evaporation part 3, mixed with steam and fed to a reforming part 4 with a reforming catalyst. Heat necessary for reaction is supplied from the heating part 8 and the steam and gaseous hydrocarbon are brought into reforming reaction in the reforming part 4. The reformed gas is fed to a 2nd evaporation part 5 and water is fed from the water feed part 2 to the part 5, evaporated, mixed with the reformed gas and fed to a modification part 6. Carbon monoxide contained in the reformed gas and the water are brought into modification reaction by the action of a modifying catalyst in the modification part 6. The modification temperature is sensed with a temperature sensing part 7 and the temperature of the modification part 6 is controlled by adjusting the amount of water fed from the water feed part 2 to the 2nd evaporation part 5. |
