PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink composition capable of being used by an ink-jet recording method which uses an ink-jet recording head having a nozzle plate with a specific structure, capable of realizing the precise discharge of an ink drop without causing the bending of the flight, and further capable of corresponding to a high response frequency. SOLUTION: This ink composition at least contains a pigment as a coloring matter and a phosphoric ester-based surfactant, and is used in an ink-jet recording method which uses an ink-jet recording head. The recording head has a nozzle plate regulated so that a part of the ink-repellent covering layer covering the surface of the nozzle plate may be inserted into the inside of a nozzle 3, and the space volume in the nozzle from the surface of the nozzle plate to the meniscus-forming surface may be within the range of 0.05 to 0.50 time of the amount of the ink to be discharged. |
