PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a highly sophisticated image by having different exposing amounts per each light emitting element array at the time of turning on light emitting elements by a plurality of switch elements corresponding thereto for scanning each light emitting element. SOLUTION: Light emitting diode arrays 102, 103 as light emitting member arrays in an exposing apparatus relatively movably with respect to a light sensitive drum on a substrate 101 are provided in a plurality of pieces and a plurality of rows parallel with each other in the direction substantially perpendicular to the relative movement direction of the light sensitive drum. The area of the light emitting part of the light emitting diode array 102 as one of the robs among the light emitting diode arrays 102, 103 is set to be larger than the light emitting part area of the light emitting diode array 103 of the other row so that the exposing amounts can be different at the time of turning on the light emitting diode arrays 102, 103 for scanning. Accordingly, a highly sophisticated image with a high gradation can be obtained.
