PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a riding away prevention device designed as a go-system with no key required in case of necessity wherein the aforesaid device enables a riding away prevention start communication process requiring a certification to be started with highly usable comfort based on user's demand, or also enables an automobile to be operated with highly operating comfort by an operator himself after engine starting has been permitted. SOLUTION: A riding away prevention device for an automobile includes one or plural certification elements capable of being carried by a user side, a starting communication channel for a riding away prevention starting communication process wherein a certification is required between each certification element and a riding away prevention control portion, and only when a running authority inspection is affirmative, the riding away prevention control portion permits a running operation or an engine to be started. By this constitution, a riding away prevention operation element (a) capable of operating the automobile without a certification element in order to start the operation of the device when a riding away prevention starting communication process requiring a certification is demanded by a user, is provided for the automobile side. In place of it or in addition, to it, a braking pedal 5 can be used as an operating element carrying out an engine starting operation after engine starting has been permitted by the riding away prevention control portion.
