PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently stabilize 3-hydroxybutyric acid dehydrogenase used as a reagent for clinical examinations, etc., by adding a divalent metal ion, etc., to the 3-hydroxybutyric acid dehydrogenase. SOLUTION: This method for stabilizing 3-hydroxybutyric acid dehydrogenase comprises formulating one or more divalent metal ions selected from the group consisting of M2+, Mn2+ and Ca2+ (preferably in a concentration of 0.1-100 mM) and/or one or more alkali metal halides selected from the group consisting sodium chloride, potassium chloride, sodium bromide and potassium bromide (preferably in a concentration of 0.05-0.5 M) to the 3-hydroxybutyric acid dehydrogenase.
