<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a three-piece solid golf ball which has an excellent flying performance for the shot of a driver or a long or middle iron, and has an excellent spin performance for the shot of a short iron or for the approach shot letting the golf ball stop well on the green. SOLUTION: This three-piece solid golf ball consists of the core 4 with a middle layer 2 over the center 1 and a cover coating the core. The diameter of the center 1 is from 29 to 38 mm, and the difference in the JIS-C hardness between any parts of the center 1 from its center to the surface is 7 or lower. The specific gravity of the center 1 is the same as or lower than that of the middle layer 2. The JIS-C hardness of the surface of the middle layer 2 is larger than that of any part of the censor 1, with the difference in the hardness with any part of the center 1 being from 3 to 20. The Shore D hardness of the cover 3 is lower than 60.</p> |
