PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable highly efficient operation using low viscous fluid such as water in a vane type rotary machine having a rotor provided with vanes, by arranging rotor slit members made of a low friction/abrasion material and formed with rotor slits for housing the vanes. SOLUTION: A rotor 15 rotatably housed in a cylindrical cam casing 10 has spirally inserted vanes 60 brought into contact with the inner surface of the cam casing. By rotating a main shaft attached to the rotor 15, operation fluid suctioned from a supply port 11 to a portion between the adjacent vanes 60 is sequentially compressed, and discharged from a discharge port 13. In such a case, a rotor slit member 70 made of a low friction/abrasion material is attached to the rotor 15. The vanes 60 is reciprocatably housed in rotor slits 71 formed on the rotor slit members 70. It is thus possible to reduce frictional resistance caused by sliding between the vanes 60 and the rotor slit members 70 to attain highly efficient operation.
