PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent collision between a recording medium and a ceramic substrate by forming a semicircular glaze layer on an insulating substrate and forming an inclining face on the upper surface of the insulating substrate at a position where the glaze layer is not formed. SOLUTION: A glaze layer 12 having semicircular cross-section is formed on the upper surface of a ceramic substrate 1 and a plurality of resistors for recording a character, or the like, on a recording medium 13 by generating heat upon current supply are arranged in parallel on the glaze layer 12. Each resistor is arranged such that the center thereof is aligned with the center, i.e., the vertex 12a, of the glaze layer 12 and a part 11a having inclining upper surface is formed at a position on the ceramic substrate 11 where the glaze layer is not formed. Since collision of the recording medium 13 against the ceramic substrate 11 is eliminated, the ceramic substrate 11 is protected against damage.
