摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide oxide glass exhibiting long afterglow and stimulated phosphorescence, which is capable of storing energy given by the excitation with radiation such asγ-rays, X-rays, ultraviolet rays or the like and emitting light for a long period of time after the end of excitation, thereby it can be used as a luminous material for night illumination or a night indicator, further, which exhibits stimulated phosphorescence when it is irradiated with visible light or an infrared ray, thereby it can be used for confirming the infrared ray laser or adjusting a light axis, and which is capable of recording and reproducing aγ-ray, X-ray, ultraviolet ray image, thereby it can be used as an optical recording material capable of reading and writing. SOLUTION: The glass material capable of exhibiting long afterglow and stimulated phosphorescence when it is excited with radiation contains, as constituents, at least terbium oxide(Tb2O3) or manganese oxide(MnO), gallium oxide(Ga2O3) or aluminum oxide(Al2O3), alkaline metal oxides or alkaline earth metal oxides and boron oxide(B2O3) or silicon dioxide(SiO2) or zinc oxide(ZnO).
