PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a roof panel in which the roof panel can be manufactured free from distortion even when unevenness provided in the roof panel is formed large, and the expansion height of a swollen part can be ensured even when a metallic plate is inferior in workability. SOLUTION: In a manufacturing method provided with a cutting process to cut a metallic plate 1, a swollen part forming process to form a swollen part 4 in the metallic plate, and an engagement part forming process to form engagement parts 7, 8 of the roof panel, a preliminary bending process to form bending parts 9a, 9b by the preliminary bending at positions where the engagement parts are formed in advance before the engagement part forming process is effected, is provided.
