摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cool a wire electrode sufficiently by providing a working-fluid rectifier inserted into an opening part of a working groove, so as to face to an electric discharge machining part for executing electric discharge machining between a part of the wire electrode and a work piece. SOLUTION: When working fluid 24 is flowed from the upper and lower sides of a work piece 18 along a wire electrode 11a, the interval 26a existing between a working-fluid rectifier 26 and the work piece 18 becomes narrower than an electric discharge machining interval existing between the wire electrode 1a and the work piece 18 as much as a board-shaped area, therefore, the flow resistance of the working fluid 24 flowing into the electric discharge machining interval becomes smaller than the flow resistance of the working fluid 24 flowing into the interval 26a. As a result, after the working fluid 24 is supplied up to an electric discharge machining center part A of an electric discharge machining part 11b of the wire electrode 11a, the working fluid 24 flows toward an opening part, therefore the wire electrode 11a is cooled sufficiently. An average pulse current value to be set in the range where thermal breaking of the wire electrode 11a does not occur can be set high, to thereby enable to increase the machining speed.
