PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrial production process for bisphenol-A ethoxylate in which the solid bisphenol-A is not dissolved in a benzene solvent in the reaction between them and causes no quality deterioration due to the deterioration of bisphenol-A, for example, by its heat history, melting or the like. SOLUTION: In the presence of a catalyst, ethylene oxide is allowed to react with bisphenol-A to give the objective bisphenol-A ethoxylate. In this process, the bisphenol-A is dissolved in ethylene oxide at a temperature lower than the melting point of bisphenol-A, then ethylene oxide is added to bisphenol-A. |
