PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sintered body of a high melting compound and its production. SOLUTION: Only the component substances of the compound, for example, metallic chromium powder, metallic molybdenum powder, amorphous boron powder are mixed and crushed without addition of additives occurring the liquid phase during the sintering, and the mixture is press-molded with a monoaxial compression press, as the mechanochemical effect is obtained, further molded with a cold hydraulic press. Then, the press-molded product is sintered in an inert atmosphere under normal pressure or in vacuum at the temperatures of 1,700 deg.C, 1,800 deg.C and 1,900 deg.C individually for 1-2 hours to give the objective sintered body, for example, chromium boride having a relative density of 92% at 1,800 deg.C and a Vickers hardness of 1,700 kg/mm2. |
