VARIABLE DISPLACEMENT TYPE COMPRESSOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable displacement type compressor capable of preventing generation of partial lifting of a rotary support unit even in a condition of low compression ratio. SOLUTION: A thrust bearing 61 is interposed between a rotary support unit 17 and a front housing 11. The thrust bearing 61 is constituted in a ring shape of outward appearance with an axial line L of a drive shaft 16 serving as the center. The thrust bearing 61 receives a compression load F from a piston 22 acting in the rotary support unit 17 through a swash plate 18 and a hinge mechanism 19. The thrust bearing 61 uses one with an effective receiving radius 11 of the compression load F larger than an off-set distance 12 between the axial line L of the drive shaft 16 extended in the same direction and an axial line S of the piston 22.
