<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve castability by acting sufficient pressure on a molten metal in a crucible at the time of casting. SOLUTION: A body part 6 is formed by recessing the peripheral surface of a setting base 4 of an approximately conical shape to the inner side at three points. The bottom thereof constitutes a nearly flat step part 7 higher than the front surface of a base body 2. If a casting mold is manufactured by using this former 1, a circumferential edge flat part overhanging to the inside surface of the crucible in correspondence to the step part 7 is formed. At the time of casting, the open end face edge of the crucible falling from above the casting mold comes into contact with the circumferential edge flat part and the position of the crucible is regulated. A clearance is generated between the edge and the inner peripheral surface of the crucible exclusive of this circumferential edge flat part. Compressed gas intrudes into the inner side of the crucible through this clearance and, therefore, the sufficient pressure acts on the molten metal accumulating in the crucible from above.</p> |
