PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waste ink collecting apparatus of a simple and safe structure. SOLUTION: A waste ink collecting apparatus 50 has a second tube 52 having one connected to a suction pump 36 and a waste ink holder 54 connected to the other end of the second tube 52. The waste ink holder 54 temporarily stores waste ink flowing from a first tube 34 and the second tube 52. A hard sponge 56 is fixed to a part of the waste ink holder 54 at the opposite side to a part connected to the second tube 52. A soft sponge 60 is filled in an almost entire area in a waste ink tank 58. The sponge 60 is softer than the sponge 56. The sponge 60 has a higher efficiency for absorbing waste ink than the sponge 56 and is easier to absorb waste ink than the sponge 56. |
