PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a surfactant mixture which is solid and ca be dissolved quickly in water at low temps. by incorporating a fatty acid polyhydroxamide and at least one other nonionic surfactant and/or at least one other anionic surfactant into the same. SOLUTION: This compsn. contains at least one fatty acid polyhydroxamide represented by the formula: RCONR1Z (e.g. an 8-22C-acyl-N-methylglucamide) and at least one other nonionic surfactant in a wt. ratio of (90/10)-(10/90) or contains a fatty acid polyhydroxamide and an anionic surfactant in a wt. ratio of (99/1)-(1/99). Examples of the other nonionic surfactant are fatty acid amides and alcohol ethoxylates, and those of the anionic surfactant are alkylsulfates and alkylsulfonates. In the formula, R is a 7-31C alkyl or alkenyl; Z is a polyhydroxyhydrocarbon group; R1 is a 1-8C alkyl, -(CH2)xNR2R3, or the like; R2 and R3 are each a 1-4C alkyl or the like; R4 is a 1-4C alkyl; (x) is 1-10; and (n) is 2-4.
