THERMALLY RESISTANT HEAT INSULATOR AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a thermally resistant heat insulator where specific microcapsules are dispersed in a coating material and good heat insulating performance is manifested by the expansion of gas in the microcapsule due to heating. SOLUTION: This thermally resistant heat insulator comprises a thermally resistant coating material prepared by dispersing to (A) a coating material (pref. an inorganic-based or fluororesin-based coating material) (B) (pref. 3-15 wt.%) microcapsules where the expansion of gas encapsulated in the microcaplsule due to heating leads to volume increase. The component A where the component B is dispersed is coated on a substrate and, optionally (C) a coating material (pref. fluororesin-based coating material or the like) having lower emissivity than that of the above coating material is coated on it or (D) aluminum foul is laminated on it respectively for the purpose or improving water repellency and stain resistance while retaining good heat insulating performance. It is expected that stains are less prone to adhere to the surface of the material and the deterioration of heat insulating performance is prevented.
