PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a moving mechanism for a Y bar for accurately forward or reversely moving the bar for supporting a head of a plotter of a flat bed type in an X direction. SOLUTION: A coupling shaft 100 directing in a Y direction is rotatably supported to a Y bar 30 by a driving means 120. Two flexible timing toothed belts 130 are extended in parallel toward an X direction on a flat surface 12 of a bed. Upper part peripheries of toothed pulleys 110 engaged with both ends of the shaft 100 are pressed to lower surfaces of the two belts 130 having toothed parts, and the pulleys 110 are rolled in the X direction on the lower surfaces of the belts 130. Rotary rollers 140 for holding the lower surfaces of the belts 130 having the toothed parts in the state that the surfaces are wrapped on the upper periphery of the pulleys 110 in a predetermined length are provided at both sides of the pulleys 110.
