PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a printer for printing a line by conducting heating elements repeatedly a plurality of times in which deterioration of print quality, e.g. increase in dot shape due to heat storage through second and subsequent conduction, is prevented. SOLUTION: The printer comprises means 3 for counting the number of times of conduction, means 4 for determining the conduction time of heating elements in correspondence with the number of times of conduction, and means 5 for delivering a conduction control signal to the heating elements in a thermal head 1 wherein high print quality can be attained by the second and subsequent conduction times while taking account of the effect of heat storage.
