PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the occurrence of mites and moulds during the storage and transportation of a tatami mat and prevent sunburm, by hermetically packaging a tatami mat in heat-shrinkable plastic films and by heat-shrinking them on the tatami mat, thereby tightly and hermetically packaging it. SOLUTION: One plastic film 2 is lapped over the surface of a tatami mat 1 and other plastic film 3 is lapped over the rear of the tatami mat 1. On the edges of both sides of the tatami mat 1, the plastic films 2 and 3 are heat-sealed together. Seal lines 4 are consequently formed, and, further, on the edges of both ends of the tatami mat 1, heat seal lines 5 between the plastic films 2 and 3 are formed. Thus, the tatami mat 1 is hermetically packaged in the heat- shrinkable plastic films 2 and 3. Further, the tatami mat 1 may be tightly and hermetically packaged by making a large number of fine holes in the plastic films 2 and 3 and heat-shrinking the plastic films 2 and 3 on the tatami mat 1. Also, transparent or color plastic films can be used. |
