PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continuously produce graphite powder with good productivity and to facilitate maintenance by continuously supplying carbon powder into cavity resonators in which microwaves are put into a resonance state and a nonoxidizing atmosphere is formed and continuously recovering graphitized powder. The cavity resonators A1,...An are formed by connecting n steps thereof in a vertical direction to a cylindrical form around a perpendicular line L as a central axis. Carbon powder feeding ports dla1,...dnn are formed on the upper wall surface of the central axial line L and graphitized powder recovering ports dlb1,...dnn are formed on the lower wall surface. The cavity resonators A1,...An are formed as the nonoxidizing atmosphere and the microwaves are put into the resonance state. The carbon powder is supplied continuously from the carbon powder supply port dla and is heated by the microwaves to about 3000 deg.C under gravity falling, by which the carbon powder is graphitized.
