PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve texture compactness and spalling resistance and improve resistance to oxidation by adding a specific amount of carbon black having a specified specific surface area to a compound comprising refractory aggregate and a metal and further adding an organic binder thereto and kneading and forming the mixture and subjecting the formed product to heat treatment. SOLUTION: Carbon black having <=24 m2/g specific surface area (preferably thermal black class) in an amount of 0.1-10 wt.% is added to a compound comprising a refractory raw material powder such as silica, e.g. quartzite or silica sand, alumina, e.g. mullite or bauxite usually used for brick for upper nozzles, lower nozzles and plate and one or more kinds of aluminum silica, magnesium and alloy thereof and further, a phenol resin, an acrylic resin a furan resin, an epoxy resin, a silica resin, etc., is added thereto and the mixture is kneaded and formed according to usual conditions and subjected to heat treatment at 150-1,000 deg.C to provide brick for sliding nozzle apparatus improved in durability. |
