PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller for an elevator capable of preventing the trip of a main switch on the building side by detecting a current flowing in the switch on the building side, adding a current at the time when the elevator is started, and limiting traveling of the elevator when the current is over the capacity of the switch on the building side. SOLUTION: A current detector 6 for a switch on the building side detects a current flowing in the switch on the building side. To a current input device 7, a signal is input from the current detector 6. A total current computer 8 adds a signal from the current input device 7 and a current at the time when an elevator is started and computes that the current is over the capacity of the switch on the building side. An overcurrent judgement device 9 gives a motor 4 a command to limit traveling of the elevator when the current is over the capacity of the switch on the building side during traveling, in accordance with output results from the total current computer 8. |
