PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability by forming bottomed element holes in an element head, and forming a suction passage and a high pressure passage so as to extend from the bottomed holes. SOLUTION: In a common rail injection system, a radial piston pump for forming high pressure fuel has a driving shaft 2 formed with circumferential cam-like protrusion. By the rotation thereof, a plurality of pistons 5 are reciprocated in an element hole 6. By the reciprocation, the fuel, sucked into a cylinder chamber 10 through a suction passage 8 provided with a suction valve 9 thereinside is pressurized. A high pressure valve 12 is pushed and opened for discharging the fuel into a high pressure passage 11. The suction passage 8 and the high pressure passage 11 are communicated with the element head 14 through the element holes 6. The element hole 6 have bottomed forms. The suction passage 8 and the high pressure passage 11 are opened to the ends of the element holes 6, so as to face to each other. |
