PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject compound useful as a medicine, dye stuff, or the like, in a short process and in a good yield, and also in a method with high safety and without using a reagent having a skin poisoning property by using a triazole derivative having a specific structure as a reaction raw material. SOLUTION: This method is to obtain an objective compound of formula II by using a triazole derivative of formula I (R1 to R3 are each H or a substituting group) as a reaction raw material. Preferably, the compound of formula II is obtained from the compound of formula I, through a compound of formula III. In converting the compound of formula I into the compound of formula III, it is preferable to use cuprous(I) chloride as a catalyst and a mixed solvent of an aromatic hydrocarbon-based solvent such as benzene with an aliphatic hydrocarbon-based solvent such as hexane as a reaction solvent. The compound of formula III can be converted into the compound of formula II e.g. by reduction, after converting the compound of formula III into its diazonium salt. Further, the compound of formula I is obtained by reacting the compound of formula IV with a compound of the formula: R2-CH2-CN in the presence of a base.
