PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hair-setting agent composition having excellent set- retainability and good feeling and useful as a hair-dressing agent, etc., such as hair cream by including a specific cationic resin and a specific vinylpyrrolidone/N,N-dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate copolymer diethylsulfuric acid salt. SOLUTION: The objective composition contains (A) one or more kinds of cationic resins produced by copolymerizing 50-90 wt.% of a polymerizable unsaturated monomer of formula I (R1 is H or the like; R2 is a 1-4C alkylene; R3 and R4 are each a 1-4C alkyl; X is O or the like) and 10-50 wt.% of a polymerizable unsaturated monomer of formula II (R5 is H or the like; R6 is a 12-24C alkyl), etc., and modifying the produced copolymer with a cationizing agent of formula: YE (Y is bromine or the like; E is a 1-12C alkyl or the like) and (B) one or more kinds of vinylpyrrolidone/N,N-dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate copolymer diethylsulfuric acid salts of formula III ((x) and (y) are each a positive integer; x:y is 2:8 to 8:2; Et is ethyl).
