PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coloring agent for plastics capable of creating a vivid fibrous or flaky pattern when compounding a coloring agent for revealing a pattern with plastics materials having various base colors. SOLUTION: A coloring agent for plastics comprises a mixture of a powder coloring agent for base colors wherein a particle is scaly and its particle size is 0.03-0.074 mm (500-200 mesh) with a flake for revealing a pattern wherein a fiber or particle for revealing a pattern is scaly and its particle size is at least 0.104 mm (150 mesh). Since the powder coloring agent for the base colors hardly agglomerates and hardly adhere to the surface of a coloring agent for revealing pattern, the colors of the coloring agent for the revealing a pattern are not hidden, resulting in revealing a vivid pattern.
