PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a chain from being entangled by fitting a base which is formed out of downward U-shaped material, and retains a hoist body on its top surface with the end part of a chain on load side extended from one side surface, and the end part of the chain on no-load side extended from the top surface. SOLUTION: The side wall 41 of a base 4 on front side 4 consisting of downward U-shaped member is formed with a circular chain insertion hole 41a running through fore and aft at its central part in the horizontal direction. To the end part of a load chain 31 on load side 31b wound around a load sheave, a hook 39 for lifting a load is jointed through a jointing metal fitting 29. To the end part of the load chain 31 on no-load side 31a, a circular large link 38 for preventing the chain from coming off is jointed. The load side and no- load side of the link chain 31 are extended separately toward the top and bottom of the base 4 respectively, thus it is possible to prevent the chain 31 from being entangled, thereby providing a simple view.
