PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing rod being safely handled in a production process and having an excellent tone of rod body. SOLUTION: The rod body 1 of this fishing rod is produced by winding a first prepreg tape 121 to a fourth prepreg tape 124 on a mandrel 100 and baking the wound mandrel. These prepreg tapes are obtained by orientating carbon fibers C and titanium fibers T in the same direction, impregnating the fibers with a resin to give a sheetlike prepreg and cutting the prepreg into a thin tape state. The first prepreg tape 121 wound on the innermost side is formed by using a prepreg tape in which the carbon fibers C and the titanium fibers T are orientated in the longer direction of the tape and the second to the fourth prepreg tapes are formed by using prepreg tapes in which the carbon fibers C and the titanium fibers T are orientated in the width direction of the tape.
