PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a skin preparation for external use capable of preventing the slackness of skin, increasing a feeling of tensity and enhancing the persistence thereof with time by including an extract solution of a plant belonging to the genus Thymus of the family Labiatae and vitamin E (derivative). SOLUTION: This skin preparation for external use is obtained by including (A) an extract solution of a plant belonging to the genus Thymus of the family Labiatae in an amount of 0.001-1.0 wt.%, preferably 0.01-0.5 wt.% expressed in terms of a dried solid content and (B) 0.001-3.0 wt.%, preferably 0.01-1.0 wt.% of vitamin E (derivative). A thyme (botanical name: Thymus vulgaris L.), IBUKIJAKOSO (botanical name: Thymus serpyllum L.), etc., are cited as the plant belonging to the genus Thymus of the family Labiatae. The ingredient A is obtained by dipping or thermally refluxing the whole herb of the plant together with an extracting solvent, then filtering the mixture and concentrating the resultant filtrate. Vitamin E such as natural vitamin E or α-tocopherol, a vitamin E derivative such as vitamin E acetate or vitamin E nicotinate, salts thereof, etc., are cited as the ingredient B. |
