PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compress an empty can in the longitudinal direction and to reduce a device size by slidably fixing a pressing part to a moving rack, arranging a fixed rack parallel to the moving rack, engaging a pinion to both racks and rotatably supporting the pinion with a tip of a connecting rod connected to a rotating crank. SOLUTION: When an empty can C is charged from a charging port, an photoelectric switch 26 detects the empty can C, a motor rotates a crank disk 19. A crank shaft 19a moves, through a connecting rod, a pinion 16 on a fixed rack member 17 in the left direction. The pinion 16 is rotated in a counter-clock direction to move a moving rack member 14 in the left direction. A pressing member 12 fixed a moving rack member 14 advances toward a pressure receiving member 10 to compress the empty can C. When the crank shaft 19a passes a bottom dead center, the pressing member retreats, the empty can C falls on a guide plate 27 and discharged, the motor stops.
