PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new material board composed chiefly of vegetable food residue and a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: A main raw material consisting of vegetable food residue is dried and converted into cleaned particles by a drier 1, and the weight mixing ratio of the processed main raw material to pulverized auxiliary raw material comprising polypropylene or polyethylene resin is such that the former is 50% or more and the latter is 50% or less. The materials are put in a mixer 2 and mixed and then put in the feeder of an extruder 3. The gas generated is removed by an evacuation device 4 and a gear pump 5 is installed at the rear to hold internal pressure constant and stable. Then a board is extrusion molded using a mold 6, is subjected to rolling process by a rolling machine 7, and cut into a new material board product of a predetermined length by a cutting machine 8.
